This polyester grosgrain ribbon has less luster than other ribbons such as satin but is sturdier and made to last longer. They have a heavier weft resembling a fine cord and thick horizontal fibers which work as distinct transverse ribs which make the material stronger. It is used popularly for purposes such as hat décor, hair accessories, and making bowknots, lanyards of corset, wedding dresses and formal gowns.
